With all the technology at our fingertips these days it holds true that you should never have to overpay for anything you buy. Just about everyone and their 10-year-old kids have a smart phone these days, so why not use them for some good. A recent trip to Target made me realize just how little this secret is used.
Almost anytime I buy anything other than groceries I’m probably doing a small bit of research before hand, whether it be where I can find the best price, or making sure I get a quality product. But sometimes you’re in a store and you need something now so you grab it off the shelf and throw it in your cart without a second thought. But that second thought can save you money on your next purchase.
While shopping at Target the other day my gf needed a few random things. Since I didn’t need anything myself I just walked around thinking, “I wonder if I can get this stuff any cheaper?” I pulled out my smart phone, loaded up the old browser and did a quick search on Amazon.com. One item was $5 less and the other was $7 less. Most large retailers will price match any reputable website these days and with that knowledge we took the items and my phone up to guest services and asked them if they would. After a quick search by the rep, he was able to adjust the prices for the items and she saved herself $12, enough to buy me lunch. =)
So next time you’re out shopping, don’t be afraid to pull out that phone and see if you could get yourself a free lunch as well!
